# How do you keep it all together when you have to do everything? Systems

- May 12, 2025

Let’s talk about the power of systems to allow you to “do it all.”

I met a woman at a cafe the other day who was self-employed, and we quickly got to talking about the realities of running a business while managing everything else in life. She asked, “How do you keep it all together? The business, the family, the dinner on the table—it’s like I have two or three full-time jobs.”

I get it. So many women I meet feel this way. And the truth is, I used to feel that way too. Until I realized that trying to do it all alone was impossible.

The secret? Systems and support (and that’s what we teach here at [Boldheart](https://boldheart.com/)). Taking back my time and my power in both my business and my personal life.

### **Why You Can’t (and Shouldn’t) Do It All**

For so many of us, the belief that we have to do it all is deeply ingrained. Whether it’s from societal expectations, our upbringing, or the standards we’ve placed on ourselves, we try to juggle everything. But the reality is, there is no such thing as a superwoman who handles every single task flawlessly.

That’s why I had to shift my mindset. Instead of thinking, “I have to do it all,” I started asking, “How can I get help? How can I put systems in place to make my life easier?”

### **Creating Systems in Your Business**

At work, I couldn’t possibly do everything on my own. I started small. When I could barely afford it, I hired my first virtual assistant for just five hours a month. Even those few hours freed me up to focus on what truly moved the business forward.

We built systems together. Systems for responding to emails, following up with clients, and managing my schedule. With every new system, I gained more time and clarity.

If you’re thinking, “But I can’t afford help right now,” start small. Ask yourself, “What tasks can someone else handle?” Then, as your business grows, so can your support.

### **Systems at Home Are Just as Essential**

Just like in business, I realized I needed systems at home. When my first child was born, I paid our nanny more than I paid myself.

It may have seemed counterintuitive at the time, but I knew it was necessary to keep my business running and [be the present mom I wanted to be](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/149-millionaire-mompreneur-secrets-to-multi-7figure/id1477728865?i=1000568268781).

I also created simple home systems. Meal prepping and freezing meals in advance, bulk-buying birthday presents, and having a stock of greeting cards for every occasion. These little systems saved me hours of stress and decision-making.

Think about your own home life. Where could you introduce systems that simplify your day? It might be planning meals in advance, automating bills, or delegating chores. Every small shift adds up.

### **You Deserve the Help**

I know the thought of hiring help or creating systems can feel overwhelming at first. You may even feel guilty, like you should be able to manage it all yourself. But hear me when I say this: you deserve the help.

[This is the power of leverage](https://systemtothrive.com/159/). By freeing up your time, you’re not only supporting your business but also your family, your health, and your joy. And over time, as your systems grow and your support expands, you’ll realize that you don’t have to choose between success and sanity. You can have both.

### **Start Small, Start Now**

Here’s your gentle nudge to take action. Make a list of what’s currently overwhelming you, both in your business and at home. Then ask yourself:

- Which tasks could be simplified with a system?
- What can I delegate, even if just for a few hours a month?
- How can I give myself permission to receive support?

Every step you take is an act of self-love. You don’t have to do it all. You just have to do it wisely. And when you do, everything changes.

Let’s embrace the systems that will carry us forward, together. You’ve got this.
