Courage: how to be courageous (have faith)
- June 30, 2025
Let’s talk today about how to be courageous, specifically entrepreneurial courage.
Let’s be honest. Most people don’t have the strength to open a business, let alone keep it going.
It takes a special kind of person to leave the safety of a paycheck and choose the path of self-employment. And it takes even more to dig deep when there’s a bump in the road—when the self-doubt creeps in, when you hit a dark night of the soul.
I’ve had many of those dark nights. Maybe you have too.
It takes courage to keep going, to resist the urge to pull the covers over your head and whisper, “Please, someone make this stop.”
Here’s what I want you to know: I don’t know a single entrepreneur who has reached a high level of success without courage. Courage is the thread that weaves through every next level, every risk, every expansion.
People sometimes say to me, “How are you so fearless? How do you keep stepping into new, bigger things?”
And my answer is this: My courage is bolstered by faith.
I don’t just mean faith in myself (although that helps), but faith in something greater.
As you think about the next level of impact you want to reach… the next level of revenue (because yes, you deserve to make your own money—and lots of it)… the next level of happiness and deliciousness in your life… I want you to know this:
It takes courage to leave the status quo and create something new. But you’re not doing it alone.
How to be courageous through faith
So, what do I mean by faith?
I don’t have it splashed across every page of my website, but I am a spiritual business coach. I’m a spiritual entrepreneur. I believe I’m here to make a difference in people’s lives, and that belief is tied to my life’s purpose.
And you have a life’s purpose too.
What I’ve seen in working with tens of thousands of women is that when your business is aligned with your purpose, you’re never alone. There is divine support all around you—but you have to ask for it.
Whatever you call the divine—God, Goddess, Universe, Source, Higher Self, Spirit, The All That Is—it wants to help you in your business. Truly.
But it needs to be asked. I learned this from reading Doreen Virtue’s books: you must ask for help if you want to be guided.
This is what I call divine guidance. This is how to be courageous when the going gets tough.
So I’m sharing this with you today because I know you’ll face moments of doubt. You’ll question if you have what it takes to bring that dream to life. And when that happens, I want you to remember this:
Have faith that you are not alone. Have faith that the resources, the clarity, the money, the guidance you need—it’s all available to you. You just have to ask.
How to be courageous? Don’t walk alone.
Part of knowing how to be courageous is remembering not to walk the path alone. Surround yourself with others—whether that’s a spiritual mentor, a supportive coach, or a community of women in business who share your faith.
This kind of support matters. It magnifies your courage. It reminds you of who you are when you temporarily forget.
So, if you’ve been feeling like you’re facing it all alone… you don’t have to.
Ask for help—from the divine, from your circle, from the people who believe in you.
Ask, and receive.
Whatever your faith looks like, be willing to be courageous because you know you’re not walking this path by yourself.
You can do this. Just have faith.
And if you need a reminder of how to be courageous, come back to these words. Let them be a hand on your back, gently guiding you forward. You’ve got this.
